INSIGHT MEDITATION PRACTICE PROGRAM FOR A GOOD LIFE |
As Buddhists, we study the teachings taught by the Buddha and struggle to put into practice what we have learnt. We know that we need to cultivate wisdom, compassion and mindfulness in our daily lives. This very often seems so much difficult to do. Yet this is exactly what we must do. There is a saying in Thai which states. A truth which is not put into practice has no value; any truth which is put into practice has value. We study to learn the truth, but that alone is not enough; we must practice the truth. The question then is, How do we put the truth into practice? The answer is meditation, and there is no better way to give truth-value, than in taking part in a meditation retreat, and to renew your meditation efforts steadily. |
*****
Meditation by cultivation insight meditation can be practiced by everybody; not limited in time and place, and the meditator will understand the truth by himself directly, at a given time, with no need to wait for the next life, The school, the texts, and the tools for practice are our body and mind, In fact, insight meditation leads to the cessation of suffering. |
